Condrieu

2005 Condrieu Michael Chapoutier, Rhone - ($558 case) the nose was closed in, but it had the Pez candy minerality and wasn't fat. Kris thought it was like a Meyer lemon tree. It was totally different than Guigal's 05 Condrieu. More fresh clean fruit without the barrel spice. Last tasted 2007 Drink now-2015 

2005 Condrieu Bonmelle 8/30/07 – It’s light, fresh and a little bit sweet. Last tasted 2007 Drink now-2015 

2005 Condrieu Guigal (8/9/07) - I'm spitting all the other wines, except this one. This has the perfect integration of rich tropical fruit and exotic spice. This wine had a rich mouth-feel and even Gilles liked it! Last tasted 2007 Drink now-2013 

2005 Condrieu Guigal “La Doriane” – (wine cellar) it has a slightly gold color with aromas of spice, peaches, marzipan. I gave Ben Spungin a blind taste of this wine and he didn’t like it. I thought it was fat, dry and delicious. Last tasted fall of 2010 Drink now-2015 

Wine and Waves

Wine and Waves
I'm lucky to be a 31-year-old surf punk that gets to sample rare wines like the 1922 Pol Roger, the 1959 Petrus and the 2001 D.R.C. Richebourg--that doesn't mean those wines are always good, or worth the price. Since I've worked as a sommelier (in Monterey, CA) for high-end restaurants like Casanova, the Sardine Factory, and Marinus, I've honed my palate and I can choose a good bottle that won't break the bank. When I have enough time and money, I like to travel with my girl Lindsay Jackson to places with great wine and waves. I'm a certified sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers) and am available to drink wine. Call: 831-521-8606 or e-mail: pwetterau@gmail.com
